MEETING Judge Iave B'.tsenbark and Senator Thomas Iaikirrson pr w'ntfd two fine talks to n m trreslrd audience at the regular meeting of the Koeburg Business and Pioessional Women's Club, Monday evening at lht Armory. Several mem tiers were unable to attend due to road and wraiher conditions and the social fatuity meeting. "Legislation Begins at Home" was the general theme for the program. Mrs. Sula Parkinson, program chairman for the eve ning, introduced the first speak er. Senator Thomas Parkinson, by saying: "Our state legislators meet tnannually, tit Salem, to sift and complete slate legisla tion, but actually, legislation, whether national, state, count rv or local community- legislation processes are going on continu ally." Senator Parkinson, outlined the mechanics of general legis lation, high-lighting some of the less familiar detaiH of the pro cesses. Members and their families arc Invited and are asked to bring a covered dish and their own table service. Medford Corporation Boosts Timber Holdings MEDFORD, Ore., Jan. 21. (P The Medford Corporation, w hich operates a sawmill and log ging operation employing 475 per sons here, has acquired 22.350 acres of timber land south of the Rogue River South Fork. The purchase, for which price was not announced, boosts the firm's timber holding to 78,500 acres in Jackson County, the largest private holdings in the county. The tract formerly was held by the Rogue River Timber Co., con trol of which was acquired by the Medford Corp. last year.
