Mrs. Louis Ander "son is president and In charge of "arrangements. Literature sent on the confer ence reveals that the conference is under the direction of Creative -Crafts School of Weaving, Gucrn--Bey, Pa., headed by Mrs. Osma Gallinger, director. The exhibit of -weaving by Mrs. Gallinger and -her staff; by Oregon State Col--lege, Joan Patterson, Ceramics "Studio and Art and Crafts Society Zot Portland, will be open to the -public from two to nine Sunday, -August 24, at Lausanne hall, Wil lamette University. - This is the first conference to -be held in the far west and ac cording to Mrs. Gallinger, the reg istration is much higher than -anticipated. " There will be a variety of classes for beginners and ad vanced weavers. Hesldes Mrs. Gal--linger the staff Includes: Mrs. ."Donnell B. Young, teacher of -science, arts and crafts at Holton "Arms School, Washington, D. C. -She has studied weaving at Korea College, Ky., and Penland School of Handcrafts. ASSOCIATED BUSINESS "WOMEN'S CLUB MEETS SUTHERLIN The Associated Business Women's club met Mon day night at the Aerts liuikling with Mrs. Evylyn Young, presi dent In charge. Most of the evening was spenl on making preparations and plans for the flower show, which will he held Saturday, September 6th. Every one is asked to watch for date and place of location as :io defniite place has been set as yet. II was voted to give merchandise prizes and the com mittees were authorized to pur. chase these and place them on display several days before the show. Mike Norton resigned as pub licity chairman and Mrs. 1-eona Slack was appointed to take her place for tile present. ROBERT H. WELLS AND MARGIE LOUISE LEAVENS MARRY AT RENO, JULY 27 Margie Louise Leavens, of Vallejo, Calif., became the bride of Robert II. Wells, Chief Phar macist Mate, U. S. Navy, at a 12 o'clock noon wedding ceremony July 27 at Reno, Nevada. Accompanied by the bride groom's twin brother, Roy Wells, of San Francisco, they came to Roseburg, where the couple spent a week visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Wells, and his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Havens, and family. They have since left, via the coast route for Vallejo to make their home. Mr. Wells Is stationed at the Mare Island Naval yard. His twin brother, Roy is remaining in Roseburg for a longer visit. YONCALLA COUPLE MARRY IN ROSEBURG YONCALLA Mrs. Marina Noel, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lee, and Harold Rogers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Rogers were married Friday, Aug. 8, at Roseburg by Justice of Peace Thomas C. Hartfiel. Only the necesary witnesses were present at the ceremony, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers left Immediately for a short honeymoon lo Crater Lake. They will make their home in Yoncalla where the groom Is em ployed at the Yoncalla Lumber Company. P. N. G.
