The meeting begins at 8 P. M. and will be in the reception hall of the Sutherlin housing project. The Rev. William Hillmer, dis trict executive secretary of the Lutheran Church, will be present to discuss various phases of the work now being carried on at Sutherlin. He will also show a set of pic tures depicting the work of tiie Lutheran Church in the Pacific Northwest. The business meet ing and the showing of the pic tures will be followed by a social nour. Mrs. C. Malitz and Mrs. C. Mil ler are serving as the hostess committee. All members and friends of St. John's Lutheran Church are urged to be present at the meeting. Meeting on Waterfowl Program in Oregon Set One of the meetings of a series of national waterfowl hearings will be held at Portland, Oregon, on May 22, according to special announcement by Allx'rt M. Day, director, Fish and Wildlife Serv ice, U. S. Department of the In terior, Washington, D. C. The meeting, open to the pub lic, will be held at the Portland Public Library Hall, Yamhill Street, between 10th and 11th streets, Portland, Oregon, start ing at 10:00 A. M. Roseburg, Ore. Sreelhead Egg Take, Count of Fish Reported The take of steelhead eggs by the Game Commission's spawn ing crew has reached the 900,000 mark at Smith River falls in Douglas county. The eggs are be ing eyed at the Bandon hatchery and then will be hatphed at the Rock Creek hatchery on the North Umpqua for planting back into the same system. The take of steelhead eggs at the Rock Creek hatchery totals 187,000 to date. The fish counting station op erated by the Fish and Game Commissions at Winchester dam on the Umpqua river reports that 11,072 steelhead have been count ed over the dam since October 29. This figure almost doubles last year's count of adult steelhead for the same period. Recently there also was a sudden spurt of Chinook migration over the dam and as of April 30, 626 salmon had been counted. Last year's count for the same period was 224.
