U. tournament by de feating Rainbow Grill's scrappy five, 44 38. The score knotted twice early in the first half, the Pirates prov ed superior to the Grillers In fast breaking ability and lluor maneu vering, and both clubs displayed aggressiveness in gaining posses sion of the ball throughout the 40 minutes of play. Little Chiloquin, unbeaten win ner of 24 straight games, became the first team In the state to qualify for the annual Class B nign 8cnooi oasketDan tourna ment by routing Rogue River last night, 37-21. The Klamath countv team. which won over Rogue River the previous night, 38-36, will repre sent District 5 in the tourney at Arlington next month. Attention will swing to the big ger brothers in Class A tonight Portland teams get top billing. There Washington could sew up tne city title and a spot in the state tournament by downing lowly Lincoln. Roosevelt and Jef ferson meet in another game, the winner probably becoming Port land's other tourney entrant. Portland fans also will see Gresham at Central Catholic in a contest that could end Central's worries over a state tourney berth at Eugene next month. A win would practically set up the District ia title tor central. Upstate. Pendleton and Milton- Freewater clash in two games this weekend that will settle the playoff In the Eastern division of District 2. The winner will meet Hood River for the title. In District 8 the two leaders McMinnvllle and Newberg will settle the Tualatin-Yamhill Val- lev league championship. t wo teams already nave quali fied for the tournament Eugene, the defending champs, and As toria. Most other district raws will not be settled for at least an other week, There is a slender chance, though, that one other race could end tonight. That is In District 14. where Rainier and Vernonia plav. If Vernonia pulls an upset, the title and a tournament berth would go to St. Helens. A Rainier win will necessitate a playoff with St. Helens. In other games tonight Salem and Eugene meet in a non-district battle that will settle the Big Six championship; Klamath Falls will play at Central Point; Med ford at Ashland; Corvallls at Sweet Home; St. Helens at Sea side, and Roscburg at Coquille.
