BAYARD REED IS HOSTESS TO CLUB ON THURSDAY The home of Mr. and Mrs. Bay- sird Reed at 912 Winchester Street, Roseburg, was the scene of a very enjoyable occasion Thursday when Mrs. Reed enter tained the members of the Ad Libitum Club from Cottage Grove at an all day meeting. A delightful three course lunch eon was served at 1 o'clock. The table, covered with a beautiful lace cloth, was centered with low bowls of rose-colored verbena, sweet peas and white chiffon daisies. At each place was a minia ture vase of fine pottery with a pink rosebud given as souvenr. Baskets of mixed flowers were V '"tittractively arranged about the rooms. The afternoon was spent visit ine and with sewing. Club members from Cottage ' Grove were Mrs. A. W. Wooley, Mrs. Alvis Wicks, Mrs. Ranson ' Cone, Mrs. Frank Bradford, Mrs. ' Chas. Akerblade, Mrs. E. Earl Cone, Mrs. Thomas Biggerstaff, Mrs. P. C. Christensen, Mrs. Al- bert C. Woodard and Mrs. Elmer Kent. Mrs. Loren D. Harvey was a special guest. Miss Anita Young, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and was very lovely in a floor-length gown of pale blue net. She car ried a bouquet of white sweet- peas. Both the bride and bridegroom were graduated from Roseburg Senior High School. The bride attended Oreon State College and Behnke-Walker Business Col lege in Portland, after which she took a position with KRNR radio station until outbreak of World War II, when she enlisted in the Women s Marine Crops. Follow ing her recent discharge from service, she returned to her for mer position on the KRNR radio staff, where she is a licensed op erator. The bridegroom served as chief pharmacist mate in tne u. S. Navy in the South Pacific the atre of operations for four years, He recently received his honor able discharge. Both the bride and bridegroom plan to resume their college studies tills tan.
