CARTER TWINS CELEBRATE FOURTH BIRTHDAY Jerry and Denny Carter, twin sons of Sheriff and Mrs. O. T. Carter, were honored at a Valen tine party celebrating their fourth birthday at the home of their parents at four o'clock Feb ruary 14. Table decorations were carried out with small Valentine favors, while chrysanthemums and four tall tapers graced the lace-covered table. A large birth day cake with two hearts contain ing four candles each was cut and served to the guests. Games were placed and Valen tines and gifts were presented to the guests of honor from: Mrs. W. li. Meredith and children, Dickie and Sue; Mrs. Walter Kredrickson and son, Larry Mrs. Bruce Carter and sons, Gairn and Laren; Mrs. Walter Edmonds and son, Walter; Mrs. R. G. Baker and grandson, Eddie Barr, and Mrs. Ivan Brosi and daughter, Yvonne. CLASS MEETING IS HELD TUESDAY NIGHT The adult women's class In "How to Make Your Home More Attractive'' met Tuesday night at the Junior High School under the direction of Mrs. Simonson. The members drew graphs of their living room and made furniture cut-outs to place in the room. Next week's class study will in clude rug values, material tex tures and linoleum coverings. Those present were: Ruby Sea Ion, Delia Schnore, Mrs. John Cornilson, Laura Dingier, Betty Neureiter, Maxine Sevall, Agnes Schmidt, Emma Mann, Mrs. Dal lon Jones and Elnor Sherk. DILLARD W. 8. OF C. S. HAS MEETING THURSDAY The Dillard VV. S. of C. S. met at a 1 o'clock pot luck luncheon Thursday at the home of Miss Gladys Johnston of Brockway. The Valentine motif was carried out in the decorations, as well as the delicious refreshments served at the lace covered tcle. A pleas ant hour was spent in Valentine quiz contests. The president, Mrs. Nina Coon conducted the business session. The devotionaU were in charge of Mrs. Lena Berhendt, after which Mrs. Vivian Laurance pre sented a missionary report. Mrs. neien Kummiii gave a very m terestine report on the mission ary work done by her sister and brother-in-law who have spent several years in Africa. RIVERSDALE GRANGE HAS FINE DINNER Kiversdale Grange met Friday night at the hall with Eldon Ogle, master, nresiding and first and second degrees being given six new members, while six others were voted on, after which the losing team of the pest hunt con test, entertaind the winning team at a sumptuous dinner. Covers were placed for 97. Lester Soencer and Alice Kruse were aprxiinted captains of the 1946 pest hunt contest. It was announced the home economics club meeting will be held at the home of Alice Kruse, March 8. The next regular grange meeting will be March 1 at 8:15 o'clock at the hall with Mr. and Mrs. Lester Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. John Ulrich and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Kruse in charge of re freshments. VALENTINE PARTY IS ENJOYABLE AFFAIR Members and guests of the Business and Professional Women's Club enioyed a delight ful dessert-supper and Valentine partv in the basment of the Pres bvterian Church Monday evening with Edna Hclgeson, Vivian Logs don and Mre Kice, hostesses. A beautiful heart-shaped Valentine box was placed at the door and each member placed their Valen tine in it. Ada Mae Rice pre sented each member with a Dart of a heart to be matched with the other part -laced on chairs. Daphne and lighted candles and tiny red hearts graced the buffet tables. Frieda Child and Laura lies poured. Durino the dessert- supper, Pat Gray, accompanied by Georgene Shanklin, sang and whistled three numbers, "Let it Snow;" "Chinese Lullaby," and, Bubbles."
