Cooley, who just returned to the United States fol lowing 25 months in a German prison camp, and Miss Hazel Bau er will be married Wednesday evening at 8 o'clock. The cere mony will take place at the home ol the bride at 121 1 Carlisle, with Rev. Dr. Ernest F. Harold offici ating. Miss Bauer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. II. W. Bauer, has asked her sister, Mrs. W. B. Paul, to be matron of honor, and Aliss Grace Olson, bridesmaid. Mr. Paul will be best man. A reception will fol low in the home and Miss Flor ence Bauer and Mrs. Melvin Sharp, both sisters of the bride elect, will serve. Miss Shirley Campbell will be pianist. T-Sgl. Cooley, who makes his home in Spokane, is the grand son of Mrs. I. A. Dunlap, of Suth erlin, tire., and a nephew of Mrs. Mablc Carsten. He was shot down during a raid on Paris. He spent seven months in Stalag 7-A prison camp at Moosburg, Germany, and then was transferred to the camp at Krems, Austria. He was march ing west with other prisoners when liberated at Braunau, Aus tria. H. Bow man were the guests. A reception was leld following the ceremony. The bridegroom, a wounded veteran of the U. S. army recent ly received his honorable dis charge. New Weed Killer Not Yet Tried on Perennials The new weed-killing chemical called 2, 4-D, now on the market under various trade names, will not qualify as an approved chem ical under the AA practice for eradication of perennial noxious weeds, county AAA committee men have been informed. Al though this new weed killer is extremely effective with annuals, more tests are needed to deter mine whether it will permanently kill perennials such as Canada thistle, bindweed, white top and morning glory.
