a member of Friendship lodge,

ber by transfer.

will be given by her for the mem
ber making the most calls on the
sick and shut-ins and also for
the member securing the largest
number of candidates for mem
bership by initiation, re-instate-mcnt

be their wartime home, are Lt.
(jg) and Mrs. Marshall Vance
Waldon (Jdcqueline Ann Riddle,
only granddaughter of Attorney
and Mrs. Ira B. Riddle of Rose
burg) whose June 24th wedding
was held the day after the bride
graduated from University of
California. At the Florida post,
Lt. Walton will serve as a night
fighter director, after completing
special training at St. Simon,
Fla.
Northbrae Community church,
was the scene of the wedding,
where the bride met her bride
groom at the altar, wearing a
formal gown of white satin de
signed with classic simplicity.
Her : three-quarter length veil,
edged.- with exquisite lace, fell
from a coronet of mother of pearl
and oranee blossoms. The skirt
was fashioned with a full train,
the sleeves were wrist-length and
the neckline was of sweetheart
design. She carried a shower bou
quet of white orchids, sweetpeas
and bouvardia. -
Gowned in harmonizing shades
of pink, her three -attendants were
maid -of honor, Tommie Angell,
Dresident of C a s a ' Hispana
sorority - at- the University of
California, and bridesmaids, Doro
thy Eames and Rosalie Miller.
The latter two also were gradu
ated the Drevious day from U. C.
and are Zeta Tau Alpha sorority
sisters of the bride. For f iowers,
the trio carried old-fashioned bou
quets of begonias and wore the
same blossoms in their hair.

Peak Blvd., Berkeley, escorted his
daughter to the altar and Rev.
Laurance L.' Cross conducted the
nuptial service. The best man

home were beautifully decorated
with large old-fashioned bouquets
of gladioli, dahlias, snapdragons

Among the out-of-town guests
attending the wedding and recep
tion were the bride's paternal
grandparents, Attorney and Mrs.
Ira B. Ridle of Roseburg, and the
bridegroom's aunt and his
brother-in-law and sister from
Bakersfield, Calif. Following the
wedding, the latter two left for
Texas.
The dav before the wedding
and following the many social
activities ' of the University of
California graduating class, a
charming dinner party was given
by Mr. and Mrs. Philip Angell at
their home for members of the
bridal partv, the' bride's parents.

- For traveling the bride chose
a cream and biege colored- suit
with brown hat and brown acces
sories. Her corsage was of or
chids. The bride was an active mem
ber of the student body during
her undergraduate days, being a
member of tfie Women's Athletic
association, Prytanean, Mortar
Board and Senior Council. She
is the sister of the late Private
First Class Robert B. Riddle, who
lost his life in Beloium last De
cember, while serving with Gen
eral Patton's army. Her father is
associated , with the telephone
company with headquarters in
San Francisco.
The bridegroom, who is a rest
dent of Bakersfield, Calif., holds
his B. A. from "Cal" and was
studying for his master's degree,
when he enlisted in the Navy in
December, 1941.

golf tournament of the Lady
Golfers for 1945 and will play
their match off next Thursday
morning, at which time the win
ner will be announced. Mrs. Pear
son won the cup in the 1944

evening at the home of Mr. and

Beautiful girfts, flowers and
cards were presented to the Harp
hams In observance of the day.
All friends were invited to the
open-house affair and were
greeted by Mr. and Mrs. W. M.
CampbelJ with Mr. and Mrs.
Harpham being assisted in the re
ception line by Mr. and Mi's. E. S.
Hall. Mrs. Hall is the chairman
of the lnter-Se. Study club.
Attractively arranged tables
were placed in the garden and
were lighted by tall white tapers.
The beautifully decorated three
tiered wedding cake, was topped
by a silver ornament and the
numeral 25.
All of the hostesses wore at
tractive formal gowns and the
guest of honor was charming in
an ieohlue crepe formal trimmed
with silver and ruby-set studding.
Her corsage was fashioned from
huge gladioli blossoms of Ivory
with deep red center markings.
Mrs. R. R. Brand cut the cake
and was assisted bv Mrs. Paul
Trueblood. Presiding at the punch
dowis were Mrs. Karl Ullrich, as
sisted by Mrs. J. E. Young, and
Mrs. Thea Bond, assisted bv Mrs.
