Hcopsters, 34-31 University High school of Eu gene defeated the Roseburg In dlans 34 to 31 on the Roseburg court Tuesday night to end the basketball season for the Red skins, who took only one league game during the season. The Indians, who led through out the first half, came from be hind to take a one-point lead with less than two minutes to play, but a cripple shot by Haley and a downfloor solo by Salt, who scooped up a loose ball, put the game on ice for the visitors. The game was a battle from the free throw line, as both teams were extremely, ragged commit ting many personal fouls. The Indians converted 13 out of 19 attempts from the foul line and University dropped in 12 out of 25 shots. Benson and Harvey were lost to the Roseburg team in the last half, while James and Krell labored under a load of four personals each. Cornelius was fouled out of the University lineup. Young Off Stride - 1 Young, Roseburg forward and ace scorer for the season,1 who was crowded out of first place In the individual scorincr records. when Darrell Robinson of Eugene nign nn ia points in tne game Saturday night against Uni-Hi, was too tense and hit only two field goals,. which, added to four fre6 throws converted, gave him eight points for the game or a total of 107 for the season in league play and 207 counting con ferspce and no-conference games. He was virtually assured of sec ond place in the league. ' r Roseburg commanded the first quarter 8 to 4 and was ahead 17 to 14 nt half-time, but Uni-Hi came back strong in the third pe riod to step into a 27-23 lead as the, game entered the final stan za. A looping howitzer shot by Caskey, two free throws by James, and a cripple by Young, brought Roseburg back into the ball game and the Indians went out in front 31 to 30 as the clock measured less than two minutes to play.
