TO SPONSOR HOT-LUNCH PROJECT AT SCHOOL A special meeting of the Rose P.-T. A. was called for Monday - night at the schoolnouse to dls- cuss the hot-luncn project which Is to begin ut the school too. Jz. Mrs. Vernon Keel Is acting as chairman 01 the committee. Mrs. Young, teacher of the Edenbower school; Mrs. Ella Her- bison, cook; Mrs. C. R. Bartletf chairman of the hot-lunch prol! ect, and Mrs. Nlday, president of the Edenbower Mothers club, were present to discuss with the Rose P.-T. A. members the hot lunch project They reported that the project had been very success ful In the Edenbower school. Al most $100 was tdken in to start the project and the kdcnbowor ladles donated the balance of money to make an even $100. Dr. Morris H. Roach gave a fine talk on the protect and Paul Elliott, superintendent of the Roseburg schools, and Mrs. Luia uorreii, Douglas county school superin tendent, were in attendance. Plans were made by the P.-T. A. to hold a kitchen shower lor the school kitchen at the school- house at 7:30 o'clock next Tues day evening. Mrs. Dorothy Rann, Portland, representative of the government food program, will be present to assist the members in starting, the. hot-lunch project All members are urged to be pres ent. I FAMOUS HARPIST TO PRESENT CONCERT FOR ASSOCIATION TONIQHT Miss Mildred Dilling, foremost harpist of the world, will be pre sented by the Roseburg Commu nity Concert association tonight, Feb. 1, at 8:15 o'clock at the Ju nior high school auditoiium. Members of the association and service men in uniform will be privileged to attend. The concert promises to be one of the very finest of the year and Miss Dilling's program will be varied and of interest to all mem bers. S. met this week with the new president, Mrs. Edith Adams, in the. chair. The following committee chair men were appointed: Fancywork, Mrs. Mabel Binder, quilts, Mrs. Evelyn Binder; gifts, Mrs. Effa Moore; refreshments, Mrs. Edith Gates; hostess, Mrs. ' Barbara Tarnowski. A donation was made to the polio fund. Mrs. Frances Hcddon was appointed to pur chase kitchenware for the church kitchen. After the meet ing refreshments were served to twelve members and one visitor by Mrs. Mabel Binder and Mrs. Evelyn Binder.
