Farmers Advised To Buy Tax Notes In 6th Bond Drive How farmers may earn a Rood rate of interest on money set aside for taxes and at the same time materially assist the 6th War Loan drive was pointed out last week in a plan endorsed by the American Bankers' associa tion War Loan committee, which .suceested purchase of Scries C tax notes during the coming war pona drive. .' The committee drew attention to a provision of the Individual Income Tax Act of 1944, relating to payment of estimated 1944 tax by farmers, defined as those de riving two-thirds of their gross income irom farming, Tne law nas postponed until Jan. Ij, una, filing and lull payment of farm ers' estimated tax returns for 1944. Thus farmers advantageous ly may purchase Series C tax not es during the coming war bond drive, applying them on tax pay ments when due. - Attention was called to the fact that Series C notes will only be acceotcd as tax .payment during and after the second calendar month after the month of pur chase. Purchase of Series C notes for payment of Jan. taxes, there fore, must be made on or before Nov. 30, 1944.
