The parents of the bride and
a few friends were present. The
ceremony was followed by a
dinner for the bridal party at
Gerald's in Great Falls. The
couple will make their home at
525 7th Ave. N., Great Falls,
Mont.
The bride was graduated from
R. H. S. In 1940 and was employ
ed at the Roseburg Pharmacy un
til she took training as an aircraft
mechanic. She is now employed
at the Great Falls air base. The
groom is an Inspector with the
Alaskan Wing of the Air Trans
port Command and is stationed at
Great Falls.
GARDEN VALLEY WOMEN'S
CLUB HAS ENJOYABLE
AFTERNOON MEETING
The Garden Valley Women's
club held an enjoyable meeting
Thursday afternoon at the club
house with Mrs. Harvey Ewens
as hostess. Beautiful roses, iris
and blooming shrubs were taste
fully arranged about the rooms.
During the business session,
plans were made for a communi
ty potluck dinner to be held at
the clubhouse Sunday, June 11,
at one o'clock. Those atending
are asked to bring a basket lunch
and their own table service.
During the social hour lovely
refreshments were served by the

clock Tuesday evening, May 2,
when their lovely daughter, Miss
Evelyn Greer Wiley, P. R. 2C,
U. S. N. A. S., of Peru, Indiana,
became the bride of Victor Law
rence Kelley, Aero. 2C U. S. N.
A. A. F. 1 San Clcmente Island.
Mr. Kelley Is' the son of Mrs. V.
C. Leake, of Pasadena, California,
and R. V. Kelley, of Duluth,
Minnesota.
This was the first marriage
solemnized in Roseburg, of which
both the bride and bridegroom
belong to the U. S., Naval Forces.
A tasteful arrangement of red
rosebuds over the fireplace, and
bouquets of fragrant spring
flowers about the rooms added
to the beauty of the occasion.
Attorney Paul Geddes, accom
panied by his wife, sang "The
Sunshine of Your Smile" In grato
fu tribute to the bride's parents
at whose wedding that solo was,
sung.
The bride, attired In the whits
uniform of the Waves, wearing
a corsage of red rosebuds, and
carrying a white prayer book,
entered on the arm of her father,
as Mrs. Paul Geddes at the piano
played Wagner's Lohengrin brid
al Chorus, the notes of which,
translated into words, rejoice:

When the bride and bridegroom
had pledged their vows, Mrs.
Geddes, In conclusion, played a
portion of Mendelssohn's Wed
ding March.
Miss Jean Wiley, sister of the
bride, was maid of honor; she
wore a blue ensemble, with a cor
sage of Oriental peonies.
The bride's brother, Law
rence Wiley, was best man.
Those present, besides the
bride's family, were Mr. and Mrs.
Ray B. Hampton, Miss Eula Car

After the ceremony dainty re

bride's mother, assisted by Mrs.

Kellev accompanied his bride as
far north as Portland, where she i
