The Miracle Book club held an enjoyable, meeting and wiener roast Wednesday evening at the home of their leader. Games were played following the supper. Those present were: Mrs. Smith, leader; Robert Strltzke, presi dent; Arthur Bohmq, vice-president; Wilma Mellon, secretary treasurer; Lorraine Strltzke, re porter; Lena Mae Gilliam, Eve lyn Hunter, Mary Ann Strltzke, Juno Hall, Charley Mellon, Charles Bailey, Richard Slritzke, Robert Mathls and Elward Smith. On Sunday the club met. at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Smith for the regular session. Two. mem bers, Lena Mae Gilliam and Rob ert Mathis, i received gifts , for three months perfect attendance of meetings. Those, present were:. George is In the naval training school at Farragut, Ida., and Arthur, who is stationed with the army air force at Miami Beach, Fla., where he Is receiv ing his basic training. M., as a second lieutenant. He has been given special training in the handling of twin-engine army planes. Fred David Asuin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Asam of Glide, has been enrolled as nn aviation cadet in the army air forces pie-flight school for pilots at Maxwell field, located on the outskirts of Mont gomery, the capital of Alabama. A graduate of Glide high school and a former student in the Eu gene Vocational school and West mont college, Los Angeles, lie served five months In the army air forces prior to entering pro flight training. Joseph R. Anderson, sou of Noah Anderson, Azalea, has been promoted to first sergeant of t he- guard squadron at the army air base at Wythe. Calir. Plans arc made for t new and lirjer obser- Frog Whips Watersnake In Fight Fatal to Both SEATTLE, Aug. 2- IAP) The bullfrog said to the watersnake "you can't eat me," and made It stick -even though II cost him his life. The strange' death struggle was discovered on the farm of Mrs. Eleanor Etickstin at Hall lake on the outskirts of Seattle, where a 26 Inch watersnake had attempted to dine on a bullfrog. The frog protested with such vig or he kicked a hole right through tho side of tho snake which had partially gulped his projected meal down, hind, or kicking side first.
