Here Over Weekend Mr. and Mrs. Charles McElhinny and the former's sister, Mrs. Josephine Fredrickson, of Salem, spent the Memorial weekend here visiting relatives and friends. They were met here by .the McEIhinnys' son, Stuart, who is In training at one of the camps In Florida and came west on furlough. Mrs. L. L. Spencer of this city is a sister of Charles McElhinny and Mrs. Fredrickson. Enjoy Holiday Mr. and Mrs. L. L. Visits Over Holiday Miss Alice Kilpatrick, formerly em ployed at Carr's Variety store here, now working in a large Seattle department store, spent the Memorial day holidays here visiting with her aunts, Mrs. William Blumer and Miss Marie Marten, and with Miss Lois Up dike. She returned to Seattle last night. . Home From Hospital Mrs. A. J. Ellison (Frances Butner) and baby son were discharged from Mercy hospital yesterday and are now at their home In West Rose burg. Kent, of this city spent Memorial day at Drain visiting at the home of Mrs. Anna Drain, mother of Mrs. Whipple and Mrs. Black. Son Is Born According to word' received here, a son, Gor don Arthur, weighing eight pounds one ounce, was born Sun. day, May 30, at Sacred Heart hospital in Eugene to Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Joelson of Roseburg. Mrs. Joelson, nee Marjorie Gor don, was formerly office nurse to Dr. A. C. Seely In this city. Joint Installation Tonight The Eagles and auxiliary will hold Joint installation or new officers tonight at 8 o'clock at the Eagles hall. The Lady Eagles have been asked to bring cakes. Refresh ments will be served following the meeting. Returns From Bend Mrs. H. P. Conn has returned to her homo at Melrose, following a visit at Bend, Ore., with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wade Worthington. She was ac companied home by her two! grandchildren, Beverly Jean and Wade Worthington, Jr. I Return to Salem Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Pearcy and two daugh ters, Miss Ruth Ann and Miss Martha Jane, left last night for their home In Salem, following I he Memorial weekend hero visit ing Mrs. Pearcy's mother, Mrs. R. W. Marslers, on North Jack son street. The Pearcys stopped in Eugene en route here to meet Mrs. Pearcy's sister, Mrs. Kcr mlt Johnson (Dorothy Marsters) and baby son, Roger, who arrived there by plane from their home In San Francisco and who accom panied the Pearcy family to Rose burg. Mrs. Johnson and Roger will visit here until Friday, when they will go to Portland to visit relatives and friends, before re turning to California. Back From Portland Dr. araj Mrs. Clair K. Allen, of this city; went to Corvallis Saturday and joined their daughter. Miss Caro lyn, student at O. S. C, who ac companied them to Portland fop a visit over the Memorial week end and returned home with them last evening, , '. . If it is not convenient for you to put up $11,000 in cash or to provide a surety bond, then be sure you do have automobile insurance. Otherwise ... if you are involved in an accident . . . whether at fault or not, your driver's license and your car license will be suspended until proof of financial responsibility is established.
