Circuit court today took up the case of Hie Douglas Creditors as sociation versus E. G. High after a Jury late Wednesday returned a verdict in favor of R. H. Wilson In his appeal from the county court action on tho petition of John F. Hensley for a gateway road. The jury In the Hensley-Wilson j case, the fust to be heard In the May term, made no finding with regard to the damages for the uroposcd gateway road petitioned for by Hensley through the Wil son place, but simply held that the road viewers had failed to lo cate the road on the site which would cause the least damage to the Wilson property. The decision nullifies all previous proceedings and will require an entirely new start on the road Hensley claims is needed to provide a suitable outlet from his property. The action heard today js one In which the creditors associa tion Is bringing suit on a claim as signed by the widow of a doctor at Yreka, Calif. It is claimed that the defendant High failed to pay a bill of $1313. The doctor Is since deceased and tho claim was assigned by his widow. High con lends that full settlement was made prior to the death of the physician. Jurors selected to hear the tes timony include Edith E. Speaker Here to Recount Ordeal as Gestapo Prisoner Ivan Jacobson, 24-year old em ployee of the American legation in Oslo, Norway, will speak at the Roseburg Junior high school at 8 o'clock tonight and will recount his experiences as a prisoner of the German gestapo. Jacobson, a native of Tacoma, Wash., who helped Americans leave Norway after the German invasion, was arrested at the Swe- 4-ft. Knight returned to her home on West First street last night, fol lowing a week in Eugene taking care of her two grandsons, Rod ney and Douglas Houser, while their motboj- was a patient at the Cnrvallis hospital, but who is now at her home in Eugene and is reported lo be doing nicely. She was formerly Shirley Knight of this city. Visiting at Taylor Home Mrs. J .A. Caraway, former junior high school teacher, has been spending this week as the guest of Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Taylor at 510 Soulh Jackson street. She plans to go to Glendale tomorrow to visit relatives and will return to her home in Portland Sunday. She brought Mrs. C. A.
