Huskies Get Even

By 44-39 Victory
CORVALLIS, Ore., Jan. 21
AP) The University of Wash
ington Huskies jumped back into
Ihe thick of the northern division
basketball race last night by out
shooting Oregon Stale, Pacific
coast champions, 44-39.
The Beavers won Tuesday
night, -12-39.
The Washington victory threw
the Huskies, O. S. C, and Wash
ington State college into a tie for
second position behind the cur
rent pace setters, the University
ol ( iregon. It also lent importance
in the early phases of the race to
the two game series Washington
will play witli the division leaders
at Eugene Friday and Saturday
nights.
The Wcbfools grabbed a bulge
on the rest of the division by two
victories over Idaho before the
rest of the league got started.
Then I hey split a two-game series
with Washington State. The Cou
gars open their first series with
Idaho Friday night.
Last night's was a rugged con
test during which 38 fouls were
called. Don Durdan, with 20
points, threatened throughout to
push the Heavers out in front, but
heller marksmanship from the
field and foul line kept the Husk-1
ies in the lead.
O. S. C. led but once in the con
test. 5-1 early in the game. After
that Ihe count was knotted twice
at 5 5 and 9-9 before Hobby Mor
ris. Washington guard, found the
range to give his club a 13-9 lead
which was never relinquished. I
it was 2H-22 Washington at the
half after Durdan had come close
I,, f-losine the can. !
For the Reavers the second half
was virtually a one-man show.

But who is going to own and control
these big businesses? If you want to
own and control them with your neigh

the power. You don't need a new law
