The recreation room In the basement was entirely decorated with holiday greenery and ser pentinos and ut midnight con fetti was thrown Into the air by the guests. Dancing was enjoyed during the pleasant evening hours and later the hostesses served lovely refreshments. Taylor on South Jackson street. A beautiful lace, cloth covered the table, which was centered with u miniature Christ mas tree, flanked by blue anil while tapers. The holiday motif was carried out in the rooms by the use of lighted Christmas trees and bouquets of silver and gnld pine cones and cattails. Covers were placed for: Mrs. Harry Lohr, Mrs. A. HAS PARTY, MEETING AND SPECIAL SESSION Florence Nightingale Tent No. 15, Daughters of Union Voterans of the Civil War. 1H61-18G5, held their annual Christmas party December 18 at Ihe hall on Mili tary street. The party was in the form of a box social and the prize for the cleverest box was won by Doris Dunning. After dinner Christmas carols were sung by the group, following which a Christmas tree was en Joyed and Santa Cluus paid a de lightful visit and distributed gifts to all present. Later games were played, and the bingo prize was won by Don nie Johnson. Decorative motif carried out Ihe red, white, and blue pattern, as well as the regular Christmas colors. As her Christmas gift, the presi dent had made and presented to each menber of the Tent a clover yearbook covering her past year in office. The evening was spent in ex planation and discussion of the books, and necessary additions were made at that time. Golden Wedding ft Mr. and Mrs. The golden wedding annivers iiry of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Powell was celebrated at a surprise party held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Hiram Powell in Tyee, Wed nesday evening. It was also a re union of Mr. Powell's brothers and sisters. 1'he living room was attractive ly decorated in the Christmas motif with large bouquets of iioin sella and winter evergreens and a large Christmas tree. The folly guests enioyod a lavish potluck supper served buf fet style. The three tiered wed ding cake, made and decorated by Mrs. Harold Powell, was the center of interest on the dining table. The white frosted cake was exquisltly decorated with a May pole design of golden rib- lion streamers from a pole, lopped with golden hells, to candles placed around the hollom of the cake. Clusters of golden bells idorned the tiers and "golden wedding" w as w ritten ill gold letters on the lop tier. BRAND HOME Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Brand enter tained the members of the Inter Se Study club at a charming Christmas party Tuesday evening at their attractive home in West Moreland. A gorgeously decorated Christ mas tree, snow scenes on the mantle, a cathedral window scene and tall tapers on the piano and the buffet table decorated with holly and tall red tapers, formed a very pretty holiday motif for the party. The rooms were lighted by liny lamp posts and Christmas lanterns. Games were enjoyed In the decorated recreation room In the basement. Mrs. Theo Bond had charge of the games. Mrs. W. M. Campbell told the beautiful Christmas story with Mrs. Clyde Beard playing the piano accom paniment, after which Mrs. Paul Geddes led the group in the sing ing of Christmas carols. A charming buffet supper was served and Santa Claus appeared and gifts were exchanged. Johnson, was installed as Honored Queen of Roscburg Bethel No. 8 of Job's Daughters at Ihe very beautiful and impressive semi-annual in stallation ceremony Tuesday eve ning at Ihe Masonic temple. Miss Ruth Hansen, retiring Honored Queen, acted as installing officer and was assisted by Mrs. William Shoun, Miss Athalic Taylor, Miss Betty Mae Whipple, Miss Lucia Britton, Miss Carolyn Cordon and Miss Patricia McClintock.
