Reston RESTON, April 20 A large number of trucks have been us ing the Coos Bay wagon roud re cently. These trucks are hauling gravel for a project which will convert this road into an emer gency civilian highway. Archie Willis is now employed In the Lockwood mill at Tcnmllc. Miss Agnes Johnson made a business trip to Roseburg last week. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Bushnell have recently moved to Melrose. They are residing on the Bill Sanstrum place. Bonnie June Willis has been quile III for the past ten days with the flu. She is not as yet much better, but htpe Is held for her speedy recovery. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Ollivant of Olalla were dinner guests of the John Wilson family last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Archie Bushnell made a business trip to Myrtle Point the early part of the week. W. F. Kearnan o( Roseburg is drilling a well for the A. W. John sons. The work Is progressing quite satisfactorily to date. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Mutthews visited In the valley last Sunday. John Giegoi-y was a house guest of the William Arnolds of Olalla last week end. Maynard Gorney and Hoy Wil lis have been quite busy putting in spring grain. Mr. and Mrs. Do Witt Cary and Olio Olson attended the auction in Roseburg Monday. Mr. Knox and his partner have Just left the Reston spike camp where they were busy preparing a charge with some three tons ot dynamite. The blast was sot off by Mrs. Charles Wilson and was very successful. The church and Sunday school held here have been very well at tended and genuinely worth while. Special music and many good speaker are often enjoyed. 1 Everyone is welcome. The school here will be out about the first of May. The C. F. Wilsons made a busi ness trip to Roseburg Tuesday. Canyonville CANYONV1LLE, April 21 Mrs. Evelyn Stroud, who has been visiting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jack DoVor left for her home in Spokane, Washington, Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Shields of Wolf Creek visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Mayer Sunday, In the afternoon, they and Mr. and Mrs. Moyer, visited at the T. L. Waavcr home in Days Creek. Mrs. Shields, Mrs. Moyer and Mrs. Weaver are sisters. Mrs. Kathlene Knight and her daughter, Ann, spent fac week end In Eugene. Mrs. Knight teaches In high school here.
