ing the last week as benefit af
fairs for 4-H scholarships for stu
dents of the Riversdale school.

acting as host and hostesss for the
evening's entertainment. Those

One of the most charming af
fairs of the month was the tea
given Saturday afternoon at the
beautiful H. O. Pargcter home on

The beautiful pink and white
magnolia trees and numerous
spring flowering shrubs and
trees are now in full bloom in
the attractive gardens surround
ing the home.

graced the attractively appointed
lace covered tea tabic, while large
bouquets of forsythla and daffo
dils were used in the living room

Miss. Alice Myers, attractive
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Max
Myers, and Floyd Felt, son of Mr.
and Mrs. George Felt, Sr., were
married at a very beautiful home
wedding Saturday evening, March
14th, at the home of the brides
parents. Rev. Melville T. Wire,
pastor of the Methodist church,
performed the impressive cere
mony at eight o'clock In the pres
ence of relatives of the couple.
Baskets of plum blossoms and
potted ferns flanked the impro
vised altar. There were no at
tendants. The bride wore a very
attractive two-piece bicge street
ensemble and a corsage of gar
denias. The bride's mother wore
a light blue afternoon dress and
a carnation corsage and the
bridegroom's mother also wore a
light blue afternoon dress with a
corsage of carnations.
An informal reception followed
the wedding ceremony, at which
time the bride cut the beautifully
decorated wedding cake, which

CLUB HAS LUNCHEON
MEETING WEDNESDAY
The University of Oregon
Mothers club held an enjoyable
twelve-thirty o'clock no-hostess
luncheon meeting Wednesday at
the Hotel Umpqua. Mrs. H. Wat-
zig, president, conducted the meet
ing and plans were outlined for
the annual spring tea and the ten
tative date was set for April 22.
Mrs. Watzig appointed Mrs. Carl
E. Wimbcrly and Mrs. L. E. Gar
wood as joint general chairman
of the affair. Other committees
will be announced in the near
future. The University of Ore
gon Mothers tea last spring was
"one of the largest and most
charming social events of the
year and the club hopes to make
this year's event equally as enjoy
able. The next regular meeting of the
club will be held at a twelve-thirty
o'clock no-hostess luncheon at the
Hotel Umpqua April 15.

1941 and has been employed in
the office at the high school. The
bridegroom was graduated from
Lookingglass high school in 1940
and is now employed by a log
ging concern at Fairview, Ore.
Following a honeymoon to points
north, Mr. and Mrs. Felt will
make their home at Fairview.

vention to be held here in May.

ing and the lesson study was fat.

group went to the attractive home
of the hostess for contract bridge.
Lovely bouquets of daffodils and
lorsythia were used about the
rooms. High score for the after
noon's bridge play was won by
Mrs. Raish with Mrs. Harth win
ning the second high score and
the traveling prize.

WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Mr. and Mrs. O. W. French
celebrated their forty-fifth wed
ding anniversary Sunday at a
very lovely three-thirty o'clock
turkey dinner at their home at
Sutherlin. The anniversary date
of Mr. and Mrs. French is March
17th, but the occasion was cele
brated on Sunday, so that the
entire family could attend.
