"'"iV , ' F Mrs. John A very pretty wedding took place Saturday evening, Valen tine's day, February 14th, at St. George's Episcopal church, when Miss Marl Joan Parkinson, beau tiful daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Parkinson, of Roseburg, became the bride of John Edwin Kllllp, son of Mr. and Mrs. John John Kllllp, of Ajo, Arizona. Rev. Perry Smith, rector of the church, performed the Impressive ceremony at eight o'clock in the presence of about seventy-five close friends and relatives of the couple. Preceding the ceremony Mrs. Paul Ueddes played organ music and accompanied Miss Marie Ragndahl, of Portland, who sang, "Ava Maria" by Schubert and "At Dawning" by Cadman. Mrs. Geddes played the Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin for the wedding parly to advance to the beautiful ly decorated altar and at the close of the ceremony, played Mendelssohn's recessional march. The bride, who was given In marriage by her father, was charming in an afternoon frock of ice-blue crepe. She wore a fuschla colored hat and matching accessories, and carried a white orchid and white prayer book. Her aunt, Mrs. Edward C. Sala, ot Portland, was matron of honor and wore a pastel-colored rose wool suit with matching acces ?oNes and a corsage of gardenias. The bride's mother wore a grey ersey ensemble with a gold hut and accessories of gold and a cor sage of yellow tea roses. Norman Mllip, of Ajo, Arizona, acted as best man to His brother. Following the ceremony, a re epllon was held at the home of he bride's parents. About thirty relatives and close friends at tended. For traveling the bride chose a chocolate brown suit with dark brown sailor hat and matching accessories. She wore an orchid corsage. Following a honeymoon trip to Arlnda, Calif., and points of interest in California, they will go to Burbank to make their home at 551 East Palm street. Out-of-town guests attending the wedding included: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schaldach, of Oak land, Calif., Norman Killip, of Ajo, Arizona, Mr. and Mrs. Ed ward C. Sala and daughter, Mari lyn, Miss Rosmary Harrison and Miss Marie Ragndahl, all bf Port land, and Miss Virginia Winston, of Corvallis. The bride, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Parkinson, is very I well known here and is a populal-1 member ol the younger set. She ; attended the local schools and was graduated in 1937, later go ing two years to Stephens college at Columbia, Missouri; a year at the Arizona State Teachers col lege at Flagstaff, Arizona, and i her senior year at University of I Oregon, where she was grad uated. The bridegroom attended school at Ajo, Arizona, and spent tour years at Flagstaff, Arizona, where he was graduated from the rizona Teachers college.
