Moore were attending to busi ness matters in Roseburg Tues day. , Don Snyder is working at Med ford with the block signal crew. ftllss Wiletha Hutchinson TO DAYS CREEK, Dec. 9 Mrs. M. J. Willard, prominent local resi dent, is seriously ill at her home here as the result of two paralytic strokes suffered early In the week. Mr. and Mrs. Willard had returned Saturday evening from Tacoma where they had been spending several weeks at the Mrs. Ira Brock has returned to her work at Newport after a visit here at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Mather. Mr. Brock, who took her to Newport, has returned to his work at the Sumner ranch. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wright and their grandson, Gene House, went to Ashland Sunday to meet the hitter's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank House, and his brother, Barton, and sister, Marjorie, for a delayed Thanksgiving dinner. When Mr. and Mrs. Wright re turned here, Gene, who had been spending his vacation with them remained in Ashland to return to his home at Pinehurst with his parents. Miss Clara Smith, who is a stu dent at Benko-Walker business college in Portland, returned to that city Sunday after visiting during the Thanksgiving holiday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Smith. Miss Lila Anderson and Miss Cecilia Smith have re turned to Oswega after having been guests at the Smith home also. Miss Cecilia has recently en rolled In a college for beauticians in Portland. Mrs. Bruce Ferguson is enjoy ing a weeks visit at the horrfe of her cousin, Mis. Bill Miller, at Happy Valley. Mr. and Mis. Newell C. She ac companied Clyde Deatherage who had been an over night guest at the Hutchinson home while en route from the coast to his head quarters in Medford. Mrs. Maggie Snyder had as her guests Sunday her son-la-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. J. M Bartlcy, and their daughters, Miss Joyce, and Mrs. Paul Hauser, of Roseburg. Sutheriin SUTHERLIN, Dec. 9. Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Brown of Eugene are visiting this week with their daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Horner. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Adamson and son of Lebanon, and Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Hummel and chil dren of Monroe were Saturday and Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest W. Adamson and family. Mr. and Mrs. Vei n Zachary and family have moved from the Fennell place north of town to llalsey, Oregon. Mrs. Audrey Bell of Ketchikan, Alaska, was an overnight guest at the Clyde Holman home Thursday. She Is a sister of Mrs. Holman and was on route to Newport, Oregon, to visit for a few days, returning here next Mrs. in. in. wood, nave gone 10 Corvallis where Mr. Wood is a student at O. S. C. Mrs. Wood, who until recently has been em ployed in Myrtle Creek is now making her home in Corvallis. Mrs. E. L. Rlgdon left Sunday for Agate Beach where she plan ned to join her sister for a weeks vacation. Lee Ellifson of Camp Murray was a guest during the week-end at the Jess Smith home on Heals Creels. Mr. and Mrs. Dan Coin and daughter, Miss Violclto. who have been living in the Willard home, have again moved into the small house near the mill on Days creek. Clinton Windham who recently underwent an appendectomy iaU Merc yhospital in Kosenurg nas returned home and reentered school. Mr. and Mrs. N. N. Wood and Mr. and Mrs. Newel C. Wood worn recent dinner cucsts at the John Busenbai k home at Melrose. Mrs. C. C. Hill left Wednesday for twtland where she will spend several days visiting at the home or her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Carl M. Hill. Mr. Hill will join her there Friday. Mrs. Helen R. Mrs. Allen Church and son, John, of Camas Valley were call ing on friends and relatives here Friday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Sumner and clauhter, Donna, were Myrtle Creek visitors Saturday morning. Miss Donna having some dental work done while there. In the af ternoon they went to Marshfield where they visiied relatives until Sunrlav afternoon. En route home they were delaved some time by a large slide which blocked the Coos hay highway. The accident, which occurred before the blackout also caused serious Injuries to three other stu dents In the same automobile. Police said the vehicle, imveiing at a high rate of speed, skidded S crasiyd ins power pole. The young athlete, who lived In Iloqulam, was all northwest conference eerier for the last two years. Mrs. Ella Fennell has sold her house in town to Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hugh and she is moving back to the farm north of town. Clarence Cooley, son of Mrs. J. A. Dunlap, left Friday morning for his homo at Stevenson, Wash ington, following several weeks' visit with his mother and other relatives here. Wilbur WILBUR, Dec. 10-Dan Bridge, who is employed in the round house at Cresent lake spent the week end here visiting his mother Mrs. Rosella Bridge. , Roy Smith who worked for the Safeway store in Marshfield was transferred to Eugene store and was here Sunday and spent the night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Smith.
