TAYLOR COOPER We know a trail, a winding trail That leads down to the bay, be low. It may not be the shortest route, But it's the way we like to go. Banks of verdure on either side Brush the garments when pass ing by, And then a little sun-lit glade Spreads out beneath this sum mer sky. Soft sigh of breeze among the firs, A brooklet murmurs just below. One of God's quiet, peaceful nooks. So we look up and tell Him so. Then passing on into the shade, Beneath the arching boughs o'er head, There comes the thought: "How much like this . , The Trail of Life that wo all tread." Then suddenly "our eyes behold A widening view across the vale, Where sand dunes rise and fir clad hills, This marks the spot where ends the trail. The placid waters of the bay, Beyond the bar, the open sea. A;iain the thought: "How much like- this The end of life's long trail will he." GETTING WORSE! That "run" in silk hose dreaded much In the past, each lady knows, But things have come to a "wors er" stage, It's now, that run ON hose! (Or maybe without.) O. C.
