Dr. G. W. Bruce performed the Impres sive ceremony in the presence of a large number of friends and relatives of the couple. Preceding the ceremony, Mrs. Frank Davis, organist, played. Ave Marie," by Schubert and also played the Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin and Mendels sohn's recessional at the close of the ceremony. The. candles were lighted for the ceremony hy Mrs. Lavernc Dulkenlierg and Mrs. Richard Amrlne, and Miss Lois White sang, "At Dawning." Both the bride and bridegroom were graduated from Southern Oregon College of Education. The bride will teach music in the Klamath Falls grade schools this year. She is a mem ber of Roseburg bethel of Job's Daughters and Alpha Zeta Theta Rho Girls' club. RESTON COUPLE CELEBRATE GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY Honoring Mr. and Mrs. George C. Sellers of Reston on their golden wedding anniversary, about 25 neighbors and friends gathered at their home on Wed nesday evening July 23rd to ob serve the occasion. Large bouquets of Woodwardla ferns, phlox, white hydrangeas, gladiolas and other colorful sum mer flowers were used to deco rate the rooms. Early in the evening a group sang, "When You and I Were Young, Maggie," and "When Your Hair Has Turned to Silver after which Mr. Sellers showed an Interesting picture of their old southern home at Merrill, Miss., and related incidents of their early life in the south. Later in the evening delicious refreshments of homemade ice cream, cake and punch were serv ed buflet style from a beautifully decorated tabic which was center, ed with a low bowl of pink roses and baby's breath. CORVALLIS TEAM IS ENTERTAINED BY ROSEBURG TEAM SUNDAY The Roseburg girls' Softball team arranged a delightful sup per party at Ritter's Back Forty on the North Umpqua Sunday evening in honor of the visiting Corvallis girls team. On account of the Corvallis team having an automobile accident en route to Roseburg, the girls were unable to attend the supper, but follow ing the Softball game were guests at a watermelon feed at the home of Miss Eleanor Fies In Laurelwood. Roseburg girls enjoying the supper at Ritter's Back Forty in cluded Miss Lois Pounds, Miss Alice McKibbin, Miss Patricia Weatherford, Miss Phrona Perry, Miss Lila Sanders, Miss Eunice Carmichael, Miss Velma Crocker and Miss Eleanor Fies. Boating and swimming preced ed the supper hour. AUXILIARY PLANS PIE SOCIAL FOR NEXT TUESDAY NIGHT The auxiliary to the F. O. E. met Monday evening and plan ned a pie social to be held August 5th at the Eagles hall. All Lady Eagles are requested to donate a pie for the affair. Reports were made on the alu minum drive and plans were made to give a dance and the ad mission prize will be aluminum. The ladies voted to purchase a $75 defense bond and this project will be in charge of the president, Clara Stiewig and trustees Kath ryn Tannlund, Margaret Pender grass and Purl Meredith. The auxiliary quilt was won by Mrs. Theodore Althaus. The next regular meeting will be held the evening of August 11th at the hall. SevcraT from Glendale attended the Re- bekah lodge in Grants Pass Mon day night, when Mrs. Charles Rush, a former resident of Glendale was Installed as vice- grand in the Grants Pass chapter. Alter the business meeting and the installation of the new offi cers refreshments were served in the dining room on tables deco rated with purple hydrangeas.
