Glendale Student Joins Oregon Flying Cadet Unit GLENDALE, Ore., July 24. Billy Belcher left last week for Vancouver, Wash., where he was one of twenty to be sworn In Friday In the "Oregon Flying Cadet Unit," at the Vancouver barracks. The cadets left imme diately for the Tex Rankin Aero nautic academy at Tulare, Calif., to receive basic training, i Belcher waR one of 10 out of 22 who tried for this appoint ment last March, while attending Willamette university. He receiv ed his private flying license this Spring while at college. He is the son of Mr. Hfid Mrs. Emmllt Belcher and is well known here having gone through the grades and high school here.
