Miss De loris Sprinkel, who became the bride of Lauren Forbes Sunday, July 20th, was guest of honor at a miscellaneous shower given at the Church of Christ, Friday ev ening, with members of the Loyal Women, as hostesses. Miss Ve nola Marsh sang a beautiful solo and Misses Lois Brant and Leta Brant a vocal duet, both numbers being accompanied by Mrs. Arne Bjork at the piano. The church was beautifully decorated with large bouquets of gladioli, ferns, sweet peas and twining vines. O. L. MALLERY AND GLENOALE GIRL MARRY AT RENO, NEV. dLENDALE, July 23. Mr. Mrs. Hunter Pell have an nounced the marriage of their daughter, Eileen, to O. L. Mai lery, of Roseburg, June 9, In Reno, Nev. The ceremony took place in the Presbyterian Con gregational church with Rev. W. M. Case reading the service. A wedding supper was served at the Pell home near Glendale, on the return of Mr. and Mrs. Mallery June 12. Those honor ing Mr. and Mrs. Mallery were Mr. and Mrs. F. K. Pell and daughter, Sue, of Oakland, Calif., Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Pell of Falls Church, Va., Mr. and Mrs. Harry Humphreys and the host and hos tess. .. 'Mrs. Mallery Is well known here and was graduated from the local high school, and was also a graduate from the Southern aegon College of Education at hland and has taught for the last two years at Wilbur. Mrs. Mallery plans to teach next year at Talent. Mr. Mallery works for the Un ion Oil company at Roseburg where they expect to make their home. SILVER TEA IS CHARMING AFFAIR ELKTON, July 23. UMPQUA REBEKAH LODGE HAS MEETING ELKTON, July 23. The Ump. qua Rebekah Lodge No. 173 met Tuesday evening with Mrs. Ida Thomas acting as noble grand, Mrs. Edith Gates, Mrs. Grace Sawyers, and Paul Levenhagen had charge of good of the order and the refreshments for the ev ening. For the program Mrs. Sawyers played two piano solos, "Black Hawk Waltz," and "Star of the Sea." Mr. Levenhagen told a story, and Mrs. Gates gave one ol Edgar Guest's poems. ENDEAVOR SOCIETY TO HOLD SWIM PARTY The Christian Endeavor young people of the First Christian church are invited to enjoy a swimming party tonight in the North Umpqua at the back of the Country club. Members and friends are Invited to meet at the church at 7 o'clock and transpor tation will be lurnished. PAST PRESIDENTS CLUB TO MEET ON FRIDAY The Past Presidents club of George Starmer auxiliary to United Spanish War Veterans will meet Friday at a one-thirty oclock dessert-luncheon at the home of Mrs. W.
