HOSE SCHOOL PLAY-DAY TO BE HELD FRIDAY The public has been cordially invited to enjoy the Rose school I'lay day to be held Friday, May !, at two o'clock ct the school house. SUNSHINE CLUB HAS ENJOYABLE MEETING AZALEA, May G. Mrs. Frank Tripp was hostess for the Sun shine club at her home Thursday afternoon. Bouquets of spring flowers were used about the rooms. Tho business meeting was pre sided over bv the vice-president, Mrs. Henry Smith, due to the ab sence of the president, Mrs. Harry Cooke. At the usual time the hostess, assisted by Mrs. Thorpe and Mrs. Vernon Gaedecke, served dainty refreshments to Mrs. Jim Rohi net, a former club member, Mrs. John Jantzer. Mrs. Ben Phelps, Mrs. Archie Sharp, Mrs. Winnie Rust, Mrs. Henry Gaedecke, Mrs. Henry Smith. Mrs. Vernon Gae decke, Mrs. Esther Thorpe, Mrs. Forrest Farnam. Mrs. Ora Con dray. POLLYANNA CLUB ' MEETS THURSDAY AZALEA, May G. The Polly, anna club was entertained Thurs day afternoon at the home of Mrs. Lowell Curtis. At one thirty a lovely lunch eon was served to Mrs. Tom Hun saker, Mrs. Sara Neiderheisor, Mrs. Carroll Dill, Mrs. Stanley Kaylor, Mrs. Morgan, Mrs. Lester Harrison, Mrs. Vernon. Vacation For Two Weeks Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Crocker and daughter, Sharon, of Laramie, Wyoming, have arrived in Rose burg to enoy two weeks vaca tioning and visiting the former's brother, A. J. Crocker, and fam ily. Mr. Crocker caught a salmon this week. Son Is Born A son, weighing seven and n half pounds, war, born Monday, May 5, to Mr. 'and Mrs. Paul Silke at the Salem hos pital. Mrs. Silke, nee Dorothy Lceper. Is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George W. Leeper of this city. Mrs. Leeper left this afternoon for Salem to sec her new grandson. Recorder Geddes Improving City Recorder A. J. Geddes, who recently suffered a stroke of par tial paralysis, has made excellent recovery and Is rapidly gaining In strength. Ho was able to be In his office for a short time yesterday and plans to resume tho work gradually. He will continue for a time to have the aid of R. L. Whipple, city recorder pro-torn. Goes to Minnesota J. A. Hard ing, of the Motel Umpqua, left Monday for Brainard, Minnesota, to accompany his two brothers-in-law, Harry and Finest Butler, back to Rosehurg.
