Canyonvllle CANYONVILLE, April 28. Basil, small son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Adams, was taken to Doernbecker hospital at Portland last night for treatment. He suf fered severe burns some time ago, and his condition has not been satisfactory. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Bushncll and daughter, Joy, of Central Point, were callers here Friday. Mr. and Mrs. Bushncll went on to Portland and Joy stayed with Lillian Bartley. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Elliott gave a birthday dinner Sunday eve ning, in honor of the anniversary of their son, Louis. His children came up from California, and took him to Los Angeles, where he was to be operated on. Mrs. Dennis Hanks entertain ed at dinner Easter Sunday, the pecasion being the eightieth birthday of her mother, Mrs. Eliza West. Besides the honor guest, Mrs. West's brother, Wil liam, and Mrs. Hanks' son, Glenn Walker, were present. This is the first tlmq in 68 years that Mrs. West's birthday hs come on Easter. Larry Womack, who went east tome time ago to bring out the Roseburg Flying club's new plane, returned the last of the week. He reports a fine trip, but he was delayed on account of bad weather. Mrs. Womack accom panied him, but when he was de layed at Laramie, Wyoming, came back by train. Mrs. Gloss took her little grandson to Roseburg Tuesday to be with his mother. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rapp, of Roseburg, visited the Ira Pooles Sunday. In the afternoon, the four of them went to Mcdford. Junior, son of Mr, and Mrs. Wade Worthlngton, fell and broke his arm In Roseburg East er. One of the bones being splin tered, it was necessary to wait until the first of this week to set It. The patching crew, which has boon working In this vicinity on the 'highway, will finish their work hero this week. Mrs. Byron Redding had as her guests Tuesday night, Mrs. Mar garet Kimmel and Miss Clara E. Moore, teachers in the local school. Mrs. Elsie Poole, of Glcndale, was a visitor here this week.
