Clyde Green, of Fort Lewis, was a weekend guest of friends at the Canyonyille Bible acad emy. Mis. Ruth Pardee has returned from a three weeks' visit with her son in Washington. Mrs. Ira Poole and her mother, Mis. Ed Hamlin, were Roseburg visitors Friday. Glenn Walker left Wednesday for Springfield. Oregon, where h? will visit relatives. Mrs. Claude Rilchey was called to Foi l land Sunday due to I lie serious condition of her husband, who Is in the Coffey hospital. Miss Emilie Hull of Olympla, Wash.,' visited at the Luther Uaugherty home over the week end. Miss Jane Miller of Albany Is visiting at the diet Miller home in Hayhurst. Mrs. Mildred Gnong of Port land spent the week end here vis iting her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Coons. Mr. and Mis. Avery Lasswell arc spending a few days in Port land. Mrs. Helen Lund of Eugene and Bob Roberts of Camp Clatsop spent the week-end visiting at the B. F. Roberts home. 'Mrs. Albert Cockeram and Mrs. Rachel Shrull spent several days this week visiting Mrs. Cockeram's daughter in Coqullle. A brooder house with 170 chick ens two months old burned to the ground at the Thorpe ranch in Shoestring April 12. Camas Valley 1J CAMAS V ALLEY, April 19. Mr. and Mrs. Chester Cook and Tom Siegel and son, Leslie, spent the week end at Fish lake. The I Cooks and Leslie went on to the lake after the baseball game at jDays Creek and Mr. Siegel Went from the .valley later in the even- 'ing. The boys of the Camas Valley high school played baseball at Days Creek Friday afternoon, losing the game by two points. I On Tuesday they played Looking- glass at Camas Valley and won by a few points. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Schmidt mov ed Sunday to- their hew home i which they purchased from Frank Thrasher. They are living In their trailer house yet, as they ' have only a garage built so far. ! Bob Martindale came home from Nprth Bend during the i week and is much better since his return. Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Boyle and 1 Mrs. Rose Kinnan went to Eugene to attend to business matters Sat urday. Mrs. Kinnan went from there to Bremerton, Wash., to visit with her son and daughter- ; in law Mr. and Mrs. Ross Kinnan I an especially to help her grand son, Frank Klnnen, celebrate his ; seventh birthday anniversary, ! which occurred April 15. , Patricia Jean and Phyllis Denn : spent the Easter vacation at Suth jerlln with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Denn and also vis I iled here with their grandparents, I Mrs. A. J. Denn, J. P. Denn and I Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Geiler. The ; girls attend boarding school In ; Medford. j Mrs. Thomas D. Johnson of Seattle, visited several days last week at the home of her son ln- law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. ! Norman Sting. I The students of the grade (school enjoyed Easter parties and Easter egg hunts at the school house grounds Friday with some j visiting parents and quite a group lof preschool children present, j Norman Coon has purchased another car,- trading in his old one. Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Whisen hunt and two children and two frjends, all of Springfield visited Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Packard. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Lawson of Roseburg visited Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Lawson. The four short plays put on by the high school students Tues day night were all very good. A large number of the students took part in these plays. Mr. and Mrs. .Charles Crouch and daughter, Phyllis, spent Sun day at the coast. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pullen and family, of Coqullle, Mr. and Mi's. Milo Claughton and sons, and Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Gilmore, of Marshfield, spent Easter Sun day here at the home of Jesse Kirkendall. Miss. Esther Brown was home from her school work In Medford to spend the Easter week-end at the home of her mother, Mrs. Ethel Brown. Mrs. Susan Smith arrived Sat urday to visit for a few weeks at the home pi her daughter, Mrs. F. R. Brown. She had been at the hoxne of a son, Arthur Smith, near Sutherlin just before com ing here. At a board meeting held l'ecent ly the teachers were all re elected to fill the same places as held this year. Prof. Chester Cook and G. R. Moore, high school; Norman Sting, seventh and eighth grade; Mrs. Cook, .fourth, fifth and sixth grades; Mrs. Gwendolyn Paul, first, second and third grades. Glide GLIDE, April 19. Millard Van Horn spent the week-end at Eu gene, Ore., where he visited with friends. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Buell of Grants Pass spent Monday visit ing at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Justin Eifert of Glide. Mrs. Buell is a sister of Mrs. Eifert. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Davies and family are moving to the Glide community from Rice creek. Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Minter, of Oakland, spent the week end vis iting at the home of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Dyslnger of Glide. Mrs. Dysinger is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mintcr. Mrs. A. O. Helvey and daugh ter, Ardene, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert P.
