day named disarmament as one of
five essentials to permanent world
peace. - I
At n press conference he listed
these qhjectives which he said must
be realised before a permanent
peace could he assured.
I. Freedom from fear, so that
people will not be afraid of being
bombed from the air or attacked
by another nation. That, he said,
means removal of the weapons
which cause fear, or disarmament.'
Freedom of information. That
Is imiHirtant, Mr. Roosevelt assert
ed, because the whole country must
be able to get news of what is go-!
ing on in every part or the country
and in every part of the world, I

it meant not freedom of the press

ing effects in human depravity
all about us. Isaiah speaks of
the dissatisfaction and distress

life's program. Man without Cod
is desperate. The henrt is de
ceitful above nil things, unless
guided by the spirit or God. Me
knows the heart of every one.
He conies In the person of
Christ to change the heart. If we
will only allow Him to have
His way In us. He will set us
free from all that is wrong. The
sinful man lies upon a bed of
discomfort, and he ts without
protection. In Cod alone we find
comfort and life. His love hath
no limitations, and He delights
to comfort those who put their
trust in Him. Many centuries
ago tlte emperor of Rome sent a

dangerous mission. He bravely

met his responsibility. The em
