Nitrate Deposit

The deposit, Johnson said, Is b

O. A. Davenport, chief chemist
for a Portland chemical research
corporation, said the deposit is cap
able of yielding "billions of tons."
Sodium nitrate, used for the
manufacture of explosives and fer
