Mr. Watts Is in charge, of the recrea tlonnl activities sponsored Jointly by tho Roseburg school district, American Legion and WPA. Mr. Watts, according to the arrange ments for the project is the super visor and director of recreation and his assistants are furnished by the WPA. So far this season the activities have centered principally around baseball for the Midget, Interme diate and Junior groups sponsor ed by the American Legion. Ir. Watts now plans tn turn to tennis, and Is Inviting all persons Interested In participating in the forthcomng tournaments to con tact blm at Finlay field, where he will be found dally between 10 a. m. and 5 p. tn. The tennis tour naments will start, August 1. Mr. Watta urges that all youngsters and adults Interested sign for par ticipation prior to that date. He also asks that all youngsters Interested in organizing teams for softball, volley ball or any other sijorts to consult with him at Fin lav field. If sufficient interest is shown In any of the popular j sports an organized schedule will be arranged, he states. Legion baseball practice will he continued each afternoon at 4:30 o'clock. Although the Junior team is out of further competition of the year, practices still will be held, and it is urged particularly that all boys eligible for next year's Junior team turn out for practice, in order that a nucleus may be formed for next season.
