Allen, of Collage Grove, a frater nity brother of the bridegroom, act ed as best man. Following the ceremony, Mr. and Mis. Adair left for Grants Pass to make their home. Mrs. Adair is "well known here, having attended the local schools, where she was graduated in this year's class. She has been employed at Hunt's In dian theatre as cashier for the past couple of years. Mr. Adair is also well known in this city, having at tended the local schools and later attending Oregon, State college. Miss Blanche Slater and Mr. Charles Parker were united in marriage on June 5 at 1:30 p. m. by the Rev erend Frederick Taylor, Methodist pastor, at his home in Vancouver, Washington. The bride wore a pink lace dress and carried a corsage of tiny pink roses and lilies of the valley Both young people are well known in this locality, the bride having been employed as primary teacher in the Sutherlin school for the past several years. Miv Parker, formerly of this city, is now em ployed in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Parker are graduates of the Suth erlin high school. They will be at home tit S4 Ava avenue, Gresham. They have the best wishes of a host of friends in this locality. MR. AND MRS. HANDY HONORED BY FRIENDS MELROSE, June 13. A group of voting people went to Dillard Mon day evening and got Mr. and Mrs. Ed Handy and brought them to Melrose grange hall where a chari vari . crowd was waiting. Mr. and Mrst "flaiidy treated the group and the evening was enjoyed in playing games. Mr. and Mrs. Handy were mar ried at Portland last Sunday and are visiting the former's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Enos Handy of Hillard, Mrs. Handy is a niece of C, M. Stubbs and has visit ed at Melrose on several occasions. The voting people will soon leave lor Buster Butte lookout where they will spend the summer. UMPQUA REBEKAH LODGE MEETS ELKTON, June 12.
