HOLDS ANNUAL MUSIC WEEK PROGRAM ON THURSDAY From the first strains of the march played by Snap (iillmoie and the High School orclmsira in Hie end ot the final number by the Men's (!lee Hub the Thursday eve ning Music week concert was a real musical treat to the hundreds of people who packed the Presby terian church. Mrs. Ruth Net-has and her ushers, Mrs. Ernest Arch ambeau, Jean Myers, Virginia Young and Petty liyrd. bad their luiuds full lilt din.; seats f.u the croud till chairs were brought Into the audience room. The numbers by the Women's Choral Hub under the direction of Mrs. Homer Crow, by the Men's Clee (dub under Ralph Church and the Business and Professional Wo men's (Jlee club directed by Mrs. Charles llraud were greatly appre ciated, and including the membert: of the H. S. orchestra ami the oth er numbers on the program, repre sented the active cooperation In jthis event and In the musical life !of the community, of one hundred jUnd twelve people, most of them not professional musicians. Marian Church's violin numbers were play ed with the skill of an artist and the audience regretted that the time was too short to permit of en cores. The fine accompanying ot M rs. English on the history and meaning of Music week was just what was needed to give unity to the pro gram. Mrs. English is president of the Douglas County Music Teach ers association which sponsored the Music week observance. MRS. F. hall with Mrs. Winnie Hawn. noble grand, presiding. Mary Van Dyne and Mayme Fett were admitted by transfer curd and Mary Decker was initiated into the lodge. Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Johnson pre sented to the lodge, two beautiful myrtlewood batons to be used by the conductor and warden in the hit tiation ceremony. A vote of thanks was given by the lodge to the Johnsons. The May visiting committee ap pointed included Gertrude Hat field, Carmen Clark and EH in Eong. Seventy were present for the meeting. The evening's door prize was won by Mrs. Iaura Hounshell.
