The Satur day Bridge club was entertained at the home ot Mrs. Sarah Phillips in the south end of the valley last Saturday afternoon. Luncheon was served at one o'clock. Kohlhagen Sr., chair man of the Roseburg Woman's ciiib service shop, will have the shop open from one to four o'clock Saturday afternoon and will be assisted this week by Mrs. Helone H. Anderson. The shop is main tained by the Roseburg Woman's club and is located in the upstairs of the clubhouse on South Jackson street, opposite the Indian theatre. Proceeds of the shop sale'i goes to the clubhouse fund. LADIES AID MEETS AT CORNUTT HOME RIDDLE, March 8. The ladies aid met at the homo of Mrs. Perry Cornutt Thursday afternoon with twelve members present. After the devolionnls and business session the members visited and served. The hostess assisted by Helena Riddle served sandwiches, cake and coffee at the refreshment hour. The next meeting will be at the home of Mrs. John Boyer. who will be as sisted by her daughter, Mrs. Ern est Primer. EASTERN STAR HAS REGULAR MEETING ELKTON. March 0 The Eastern Star Chapter No. 113 met in regu lar session Tuesday evening with Mary Crubbe acting as worthy mat ron in place of Ieua Bossen, who is ill. Is arriving in Roseburg in company with her mother today to make preparations for her con etrt to be held at eight o'clock Thursday evening. Miss Gladys Strong, who has for manv years been onp of Rose burg's most prominent m usic teachers and has been active in promoting music in this citv. w!ll act as accompanist to Miss Smith. Miss Strong was graduated from Linfield conservatory of music and from the Boston conservatory of music and is" a very talented musician. Miss Smith is prominently known in the United States as an exceptionally fine soprano singer and her concert promises to be a genuine musical treat for music lovers in this vicinity. The Knabe piano furnished for the concert has been given by the W. K. Ott Music store.
