Dally Devotions
By DR. CHAS. A. EDWAJID8
Things do get in the nay of
our living th fe and doing
the deeds that are ours to do.
Tho trouble is that the things
of our world about us huve a
habit of making attachments
Inat hinder us from reaching
higher realms of spiritual life.
And it Is In the Interests of that
free, spontaneous life of the
spirit that Jesu.i mukes the de
mands upon us that lie does.
The fact that we hesitate, even
to tl;lnk of giving up our lives,
shows how completely they
stand lu the way of a consecra
tion that the Master ex-iecl of
all who would follow lllm. For
siicli liniierfect devotion uud
liair iiearted consecration ns our
lives have shown we crave Thy
mercy and pardon, our (Soil. ?)o
Thou help us to a more complete
surrender, to a nobler and more
heroic giving up of our selves to
I by purpose nnd programme in
the world. Amen.
