home on the Melrose road and are
now residing there.

this time. The skirt is made of graded flounces,

club of Itoseburg met at the club
house In one of the most inter
esting meetings In the history or
the club. Mrs. Leon Yuarwood,
newly appointed president of the
club, introduced the various speak
ers and outlined club activities
for the year.
Following the national program
of Federated Woman's clubs, the
Junior group has been divided into
study clauses by Mrs. Yearwood,
aud at the meeting Monday even
ing the chairmen of the various
committees reported on their di
visions. Mrs. Jack Chapman, chair
man of press and publicity, gave
a splendid presentation of her
work, as did Mrs. H. U Tucker
from the department or fine arts.
Miss Betty Stark briefly discussed
public welfare, and Mrs. William
I'nrath spoke interestingly on the
American home, one of the out
standing divisions of Junior club
work. Mrs. Lotus Knight Porter
concluded the program with a talk
on the press.
Plans (or a February dance were
discussed by the members, Mrs.
Yearwood appointing a tentative
committee composed of Mrs. H,
B. Keith, Mrs. Louis K. Fies, Mrs.

Monday's picture. "Romeo and
Juliet," was charming. Although
the customs, costumes and graces
of that age seem as remote from
this period ot machines, slacks aud
hollos as fairy tales, yet the por- 11
trayal of beauty and gallantry
must alwuys raise Ihe ideals of
those who see it.
An excellent pattern of life is
suggested by monkeys or plaster
forms of monkeys. Statuettes are
common of the three who see no
evil, hear no evil, speak no evil.
Admonitions in a negative form,
however, are likely to leave empty
spaces. Why not turn this Idea in
to positive terms for the new 1938

Miss Margaret Johnson, our
newly arrived librarian, and Dr.
Ireland, who will prescribe and su
pervise occupational therapy, are
both transfers from American
Lake, and were cordially welcom
ed by those of our patients who
have previously had care iu that
hospital.

ers, both of Itoseburg, and Louis
W. Butler of Rogue River, came in
for treatment the last vett-end of
the old year. A week's care has
sent Mr. Howard home again, but
tho others are gaiuing more slow
ly. With a librarian, assigned to full
time administration of book ther
apy, and Mrs. Anderson now de
voting all her hours to the prepara
tion of other forms of entertain
ment and diversion, nobody here
can have the blues. Wo hope the

minded, so that whenever they see
a good amateur play, musicul or
minstrel at club, school or grange,
they will remember us, and con
