Mix together c sugar-and 2 T melted butter. Add to drained onions. Bake in a cas serole until brown. GOLDEN GLOW POTATOES ' EDITH S. ACKERT, Roseburg. Peel nnd split medium size po tatoes. Lay split side down In thick iron frying pan. Add 2 T drippings or butter, salt and pepper to taste. 1 small c water. Cook slowly for 30 min. when the water should be evaporated, potatoes mealy nnd golden brown on flat side. SPINACH AND TOMATO SCALLOP MRS. JOHN W. WEATHERFORD Roseburg, Ore. 1 No. 2i can spinach; 2 eggR; 1 pt tomatoes; 2 T butter. Drain juice from spinach and tomatoes and thicken with cornstarch. Add slightly beaten eggs to spinach and tomatoes which have been com bined. Put Into a baking dish, cov er with thickened juice nnd cover with bread crumbs dotted with the butter. Bake until set and browned. SCALLOPED ONIONS MAE WRIOHT, Roseburg. Peel 1 qt smnll onions. Cook In boiling salted water until tender. Drain, place In greased baking dish. Pour over 2 c well seasoned white snare. Sprinkle with H lb grated cheese and 1 c fine bread crumbs mixed with 1 T or more of melted butter.
