S The ladies of the Industrial club met at the clubhouse at Fair Oaks on Thursday with fourteen members and, one guest prejent. After a de licious potluck luncheou at one o'clock an election ot officers and business meeting was held. Mrs. Alva Manning, former president, conducted the election In which Mrs. Arthur Smith was elected president,- Mrs. G. W. Milam vice president, Mrs. Jake Miller secre tary, and Mrs. Royal Aheene treas urer. Mrs. C Chamberlain was ap pointed by the new president as head of the work committee, and Mrs. Lloyd Thompson program chairman. Members present were Mrs. Jake Krancls, Mrs. Alva Man ning, Miss Culherine Manning, Mm. Kay Brown, Mrs. C. K. Flory, Mrs. U. K, Flory entertained their card club on Saturday evening, five-hUiidred being played. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Brown received high score, Miss Catherine . Manning low for the IndloK, and Mr.' Flory, Sr., low for llie'incn. Delicious re freshments were served at- mid night. The dovotlonala were led by Hie president, who read psalm 91; the subject being "1 will go in the strength of tho Lord." A number of tne .members and friends were reported 111 and un able to attend. The next meeting will bo held nt the home of Mrs. Georgia Kight, north or Cunyonvllle Feb. 18. A lull attendance is desired. SILVER TEA IS LOVELY AFFAIR AT YONCALLA YONCALLA. Feb. S Mrs. Haf- old Meyers, wife of the M. E. pas tor, entertained at a silver tea for the ladies of the community in Epworth hall Tuesday afternoon. A similar tea was being served all over the United Stutes as a na tional affair, the proceeds being used for missionary work. Rev. Meyers gave a very interesting tulk on Missions. .Mrs. Meyers ren dered several musical numbers on the pluuo, music ot different coun tries. On display was li;Bit work from Mexico, China, Belgium and Korea,. as well as pictures of dif ferent foreign countries. Delicious relreshments were served to Mrs. Nettie Hanan, Mrs. Jess Laswel! A. will hold its next regular meeting Friday, February 19th, at three o'clock at the schoolhouse.- The ladles ot the P.-T. A. are busy quilting the quilt which will be given away the night of the an nual play at the Evergreen grange. On Monday, Feb. 8th, an all day quilting bee -and potluck dinner will be held at the homo of Mrs. John Gross. Watson entertained at a very lovely seven o'clock dinner last evening at her attractive home on Benson street to honor Mr. Wat son on his birthday anniversary. Daffodils and - blending candles formed the pretty bouquet for the centerpiece of the serving table. An attractive birthday cake also added to the decorations for the affair. Place In pie tin, crimp edges and prick DOttom with fork. Bake until a very light brown. Place cottage cheeBe, Bugar, cornstarch and egg yolks in bowl and cream together well.
