SOCIETY By LOTUS KNIGHT POR1ER ROSEBURG WOMAN'S CLUB FIRST FALL MEETING TO BE HELD NEXT TUESDAY Of much interest to clubwomen of Hois e burg is the opening meet ing of the Hoseburg Woman's club to be held, ut a delightful 1:30 o'clock dessert-luncheon next Tues day, October 6, in the clubhouse with the officers, the board of di rectors and the clubhouse bourd members acting as hostesses. This meeting will be guest day and every member is being urged to invite guests and enjoy this de lightful meeting. Mrs. W. M. Camp bell, president, will be in charge. Sept. 30. The Elga rosrt Lutheran ladies aid held their remihir meeting at the home of Mrs. Frank Johnson Thursday af ternoon. The rooms were decorat ed with bouquets of fall flowers. The aid president, Mrs. Adolph Johnson, being absent the meeting was called to order and the devo tional services conducted by the vice-nresident. Mrs. E. O. liloom- quist. At the conclusion of the serv ices plans were made to sell quilt which the ladies have pieceJ and quilted. Late in the afternoon dainty re freshments were served by M Johnson with Mrs. Samuel Lun- dahl assisting. The members attending the meet ing were Mrs. Oscar Nelson, son and grandson, and Mi'3.
