Much Interest is being shown In
the school election to be held next

school, to select two directors for

(AP) Thirty one persons were ac
cused of being involved In a roast
wide illegal operation syndicate in
an indctment voted by the San
Francisco grand Jury today.

cluded: That the ring has been netting
between $250,000 and $500,000 an
nually.
That women, loaned money for
operations, were forced to repay
it with exhorbltant interest.
That approximately 4,400 cases
have been handled annually.
That physicians and others per
forming operations have been paid
as high as $1.0.00 monthly.
Dr. Pink ham said he h-id been
attempting for three years to smash
the ring, which he declared had
connections throughout California
and in Oregon and Washington.
The present investigation does not
extend beyond California.
