Legionnaires Visit Auxiliary About this time a gallant group of legionnaires, captained by the program chairman, Carl Black, bravely siormed our gathering, quite tilling up ihe auxiliary room with avoirdupois and conversation. Carl, the inimitable master of cere monies, presented the following program, each number being lustily encored: Readings, by Maxine Smith, recent winner' of declama tion honors at R. i-I. S.; character istic tunes by the famous German baud composed of "Snap" Gilunore, Clyde Carstens, Mike Crocker, Jim Campbell and Heskct Baker; blues souks by Mrs. Gwen Rose Zenor; personality ditties by Cecil Black. (Cece got along without a piano for a couple of his numbers but, pshaw, why a piano? We have a hunch that If Cece were stranded on un island of Igoroties and turn ed "Anton! Spaghoni" on them, he would be sharing potluck with the chief himself before nightfall). Harold Roadman got a big hand with his ballads, and Eleanor Lan genberg, who closed the program uith a tap dance, was roundly ap plauded. Mra. Lynn Beckley accom panied Mr. Roadman and Miss Lang en berg. To cap off tho evening, Mrs. Lyle Marsters aud Mrs. Velle Broadway served peifectly lush sandwiches washed down by pip ing hot coffee from Carl Black (could it have beon that good olo Silex coffee?) Jim Young did a masterful job of pouring the coffee, while Mrs. William Baillie and Mrs. Earl Ullrich assisted at the lace covered sandwich table. Taken by and large, it was a grand evening if one omits the little matter of ihe stove, which acted up for the first time in a year but, well, .skip that.
