(AP) A coroners jury today heard the sor did slory of how Richard Locb, partner in the "thrill mutdor' of Hobby Franks in 1921, was slashed to death in a penitentiary bath room yesterday. The fellow convict who killed Loeb 23-year-old James Day, Chi cago smoked nervously as a men tal export confirmed In part the killer's story that "indecent ad vances" by Loeb brought the in furiated attack. A doctor referred to the fatal battle in the shower room, from which Loeb staggered bleeding from 56 razor wounds, as "this episode." "This episode seemed in the na ture of panic reaction, on Day's part," he said. He called the young convict "an egocentric personal ity," treated In 1932 "for hysteria." Although Loeb was of the Jew ish faith, the warden said he call ed for the Catholic prison chaplain, Rev. Fr. Eligius Wier. Before the cbapialu arrived, the warden said, Loeb gasped, "1 think I'll make it" and sank Into a coma. ' ' With him at the time of his death was his brother, Ernest, a real estate dealer of Chicago, and the Loeb family physician, Dr. Lester E. Frankenthal.
