(AP) The treusury ruled today that dealers in unmelted scrap gold may now trade In up to 35 troy ounces without holding a federal gold license. The ruling, which was in the form ot an amendment to the gold reserve act regulations, removed some ot the restrictions on deal ings in gold for industrial, profes sional and artistic purposes. Small manufacturers, jewelers, dentists and other persons engaged Iu professions requiring the URe ot gold are permitted by the amend ment to acquire the metal m any form up to a quantity not to ex ceed 35 troy ounces. Dealers likewise are permitted, without a federal gold license, to deal in unmelted scrap gold, pro vided the amount of such gold to gether with all other gold held by any person at any one time does I not exceed 35 troy ounces. During tho year, the KCA said, approximately 600 other unions wero organized under state laws.
