W. pei kin was honor guest on his birthday anniversary Man day evening, when Mrs. Perkins entertulned with . a Hallowe'en party at her home on Mosher Ktieet. The side-walk and steps and front porch , was coveied with dry fall leaves that caused a soft rustling sound, when the guests stepped from their curs to enter the Perkins home. Weird looking dwarfs, ghosts, goblins nnd witches were cleverly masked and placed on tlie porch, hall and living rooms. Cornstalks, pumpkins nud nil the Halloween trimmings were used to create a perfect setting for the party. . . The dining room also waB decked with Hallowe'en colors and large bouquets of chrysanthemums in shades of yellow, "Spooky" look ing favoirt and placecards were placed on the table.- The .guests were served n seven o'clock; liirthdny dinner. Dining the bridge game, ITie lights suddenly went out and a weird noise was heard from the front porch. As the front door flew open, the lights were again turned on. and the guests beheld an old witch coming toward them on a broom-stick. The witch staled that she had been summoned to the Per kins home by tho Splrlls and had come to tell them their fortunes. Kach guest's fortune was then told, which proved to be one of tlie best ' features of the cvenlngi Mrs I.. O. We now have, around 125 members paid up for 1931 and still going strong. Our object is to have all the members paid up by Armistice day as we have challenged the Legion men to a race, making it on the fifty-fifty basis, that we will have our total membership ' of three hundred members in before they will have three hundred of their five hun dred.
