Search for a suitable location for
the filming of an episode in the
coming Fox super film "Oregon
Trail," now in the process of mak
ing, is being conducted in the coun
ty by Ben Wurtzel and Leo Shaw,
who state that a cast or nearly zuu
persons will be used, and more
than $30,000 expended locally. In
the event a site can be. found In
this vicinity.
Photographs were made this
morning of a spot in Camas Valley,
deemed to be satisfactory for the
purpose, and if the site is ap
proved the company will take Im
mediate steps to prepare for the
coming of the cast
Locations have been used in
Montana and Wyoming and 'the
Oregon location must be Teady
within the next ten days, or two
weeks, as It Is planned to have the
troupe here by that time. Jt will
probably take several weeks to
complete tne scenes mat it is pro
posed to make in this locality.
Mr. Shaw Is to remain In Ross
burg for several days, and
make a further search for loca
tions. At the present time the Cam
as Valley site is the most favored,
but 1n the event a more satisfac
tory place can be found, it will be
used. Aside from the scenic value,
the site must also be of an acces
sible nature with transportation an
important factor.

and Harvey, both archery enthu
siasts, had expected to enter the
archery contests advertised at Ash
land, but for some unknown rea
son these contests were withdrawn
from the day's program.

experienced by Glendale passed In

one who could get away, and it
seemed nearly every one could,
went somewhere. The Glendale
Lumber company closed down its

til Monday morning, giving its em
ployees a chance at a three-day trip
