Pitchford of this city, who has been critically ill with pneumonia. Is reported to be improving in a message received hv Mrs. Pltch ford this morning. Ills condition for a short time was verv serious, but he Is now believed to be out of danger, unless unforeseen com plications arise. Airplane Forced Down A Ryan monoplane flying from Seattle to San Francisco was forced down on the local fMd yesterday because of poor visibility. The nlane was flown by A. R. Hoagg. Rvan com pany factory representative, who was taking a party of friends through to San Francisco. The fog was so low between Canyon vllle and Grants Pass that the plane was flown back to Roseburg until the fog lifted. The trip was com pleted late In the afternoon.
