Harold Lloyd's production "W'eliome iJanger" was presented j uy the management and was an io'hf,r of those sure-fire pictures of I thrill material and laugh provoking The talking equipment, which was moved to the Liberty from the Antlers theatre gives far belter re- t smaller iiiiilitoriiim wli )i loupr ceilings, gives ample volume and permits operation of the talking device with less amplification, thereby reducing distortion and giving clarity of tone. The picture, "Welcome Danger," Is one of the greatest examples of why Harold Lloyd Is one of the most popular activo screen come dians today. The theme, of course, is an en tirely new one, as has been the case with all Lloyd plots. Harold is discovered as a serious-minded young Boston botanist immersed in his books on floricul ture. Rut fate has ruled that he must be plunged into swifter, more exciting currents of activity. Friends of his deceased father, one time captain of the San Francisco police force, decide to invite Har old to take over the job of clean ing up gangsters and tong men in the city's underground Chinatown. Thev presume that Harold will display the same courageous and iron-fisted power in office that his father lind shown. The Innocent Harold goes to "Frisco." Ry a lucky break he scores a victory over a group of underworld denizens the first day he is in the city. Ho applies bo tanical methods to the art of fin gerprinting, and gets a clew to the ringleader of the lawless ele ment. Then come the big thrills ho goes Into a dark and mysterious underground Oriental den to res cue a kindly Chinese doctor who had effected a miraculous cure of tlie Utile brother of Harold's sweet heart. Rarliara Kent. It is one con tinuous thrill interjected with ra-plil-firo laughs and gags from that point to tho . finish. Of course Harold makes good, hut it is the "how" of it that makes tills pic ture a classic of the fun-maker's art. Miss Kent, as the leading lady, is very easy on the eyes.
