C.lendale lodEe No. 172. I. O. O. F at its meeting last Tuesday evening voted to proceed at once With the building, plans ior wuicu have been under discussion lor some time. The membership is very enthusiastic about the pro ject and nearly one-half of the esli mated cost was subscribed at this first building meeting. The building will be of tile and concrete construction und Is to be two stories high. It Is to be er ected on the lot adjacent to the new Glendale garage now under construction and will have a 50 foot fronting on Pacific Ave., with a deplh of 72 feet. The ground floor will be divided into space for two stores, one 26 by 40 feet and the other 18 by 40 feet, leavlDg a warehouse rooui in the rear of 50 by 32 feet, to be di vided to suit the tenants. The Odd Fellows will use the entire second floor for lodge pur poses. The plans call for a lodge hall 36 by 38 feet, with a ban quet hall directly back of the lodge room, 36 by 32 feet In size and so built that It can be made a part of the lodge room whenever desired. A roomy kitchen, two regalia rooms, two cloak rooms, two toilets, and a hall are all provided for on the second floor, together with a front entrance to the upstairs. This building when completed will provide the Odd Fellows with roomy, convenient and modern lodge quarters, and with the two stores underneath, which will bo readily rented, providing a source of income to the lodge. Glendale lodge. No. 172, I. O. O. F., was instituted October 23, 1903. For years the meetings were held In the Masonic hall, un til in 1813 tho lodKe built a two story iramo building on Third street for its own use. This was Its homo until the big fire of July, 1928, when this building, together with contents and all lodge equln-' ment, wont up in smoke, with only partial Insurance. Of late the Odd Fellows have been holding their meetings In the city hall and they are now looking forward with eag erness to the lime when thoy may again assemble under their own roof.
