Miss Peters attended hitfh school in Koseburg. License Is Granted A marriage license was granted lute Saturday evening to Clifton Agee and Dortha Itedifer, both of Dixonville vicinity. Clifton Agee is a cousin of Koland Agee, county clerk, frvm whose office the license was issued. Conductor On Vacation J. W. Tynan is taking a vacation from his duties as conductor on the Shasta between Koseliurg and Ashland and he and Mrs. Tynan left last nighl for Portland, where they will spend several days on a pleasure trip. - III in Portland D. C. Humphrey, formerly a linotype operaior in Ihe News-Review office Is ill at his home In Portland. Mr. Humphrey has been a member of the Orrgoninn staff for a number of years ami has been ill since the early part of April. Jack Wilson Here Jack Wilson, now living at Myrtle Creek but a former resi dent of this cily, was here on busi ness yesterday. Is Found Guilty Herman Morse, charged wun possession of liquor who has been confined in the county jail for sev- ral days awaiting trial, appeared yesterday and was found guilly. Mrs. Edith Ackert Is In Salem this week attending the confer ence or school superintendents which will convene for three days. ending on Wednesday. Garden Valley truck garden man, who visited here yesterday reports that the valley in which he resides is pro ducing a fine crop of both fruit and vegetables this year. Medford Mechanic Here- Most nutomohile mechanics wilt never know as much about cars as Oscar Lynaf of Medford has for gotten, his friends here aver. Mr Lynam, who with his daughter Mrs. H. Fisher of San Jose, visited here Sunday, is a former resident of Koseburg. He is now in the ser vice station business in the south ern Oregon city. McKay has a large fruit farm at Brockway and the peaches were in dicative of a fine crop. Leaving For Portland Mrs. Nathan Fullerton of this city is leaving this afternoon for Portland where she is called uy tne accidental death of her brother-in- law, Emmeit Lawler. The fatality occurred while Lawler was engag ed in consruction work at Alturas. Undergoes Serious Operation- Mrs. S. J. Shoemaker was ope rated on early Monday morning at the Mercy hospital. The operation was a major one and Mrs. Shoe maker will be confined to the hos pital for two weeks or more but she is reported to be getting along very nicely. Partin of this cily left today for North Bend, where Mrs. Everett Partin is receiving medi cal treatment. To Visit a Month Mrs. Ada Boyson of Kansas City, Missouri, is a guest hem nt the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Davis. Widely traveled Mrs. Boyson ex pressed her pleasure in Koseburg and remarked that the air here teemed vastly different and more wholesome. Wallace Sand and CJravel company here for use on the highway work on the Coos Bay highway. Violators Fined Judge C. F. Hopkins yesterday meted out fines to three fish law violators. A Kay Kwing of Keno was fined $25 and costs for catch ing more than the legal number of trout from the waters of Diamond lake; E. L. Dixon of Modoc Point was given the same fine, and Mi Smith of Keno was fined a similar amount for taking fish under six inches In length as specified by the game laws. All of the offenders paid their fines. Enroute South Mr. and Mrs. Charles Berg and Caroline Berg of Portland and Mrs. H. J. Ottenheimer of Port land stopped here last night en route south. This an nouncement is made as the result of a thorough survey of the terri tory.
