Clark of the coast association and president of the Douglas County I'ouitry as sociation is working nijdit and day with excellent results. From a .standing start, with a total membership of 4:1,000 hens represented, Mr. Clark and his fellow workers have signed up 11;w members representing 8,000 hens and have con ducted a survey among old members showing a probable total flock increase of some 10,000 hens. The board of di rectors of the Pacific Cooperative Poultry Producers as sociation has said that as soon as membership tributary to lloseburg reaches a total of between 75,000 and 100,000 hens a packing plant will be established. Petween fifteen and wenly thousand more hens will have to he pledged to reach this goal. A new egg packing plant will mean for Iiosehurg and Douglas county a more prosperous poultry producing industry anil a decided increase in poultry produc tion. Let's pull for it. ' The thirty-six piece band from Sutheiiin was an im portant factor in the great Sunset Trail pageant in Eugene last week. This fine band was chosen to lead the Cover iior's section of the parade and was at the head of the proces sion throughout. Douglas county should he very proud of ther splendid musical organizations. Ours was the only "county in the state to be represented in the Eugene cele bration with two bands one from Sutheriin and the other from lloseburg.
